The incredible Room 19

For our learning pathways unit we have been learning about dinosaurs. Junior school had a great day exploring Butterfly Creek where we listened to a keeper talk about dinosaurs, we went into the hot and stuffy butterfly house and saw Goldie the crocodile being fed. Did I forget to mention the awesome train ride and petting the farm animals? What a cool day!!

What can I say?? May is a popular month for birthdays in Room 19 because we celebrated another birthday recently which meant another cake came in to share with the class. This time a delightful goody goody gumdrops ice cream cake to help celebrate Lia's 7th birthday. Happy 7th Birthday Lia and thank you for sharing your cake with us all!!

Yesterday we got out the one metre ruler and tried to measure the length of a Brontosaurus. It was 22metres!!! To see how long that was we all lay down to see if Room 19 could match that length but unfortunately we were about 2 metres short. It took all 20 of us and we still weren't the same length as a Brontosaurus! They must've been sooooo long!!!

Last week Room 19 went for a fossil hunt because we are learning about dinosaurs. Here a some pictures and kids writing of our interesting morning! Today Room 19 went on a dinosaur adventure. We found a humongous bone and everybody was good at digging up the bone. By Daniella We went to the sandpit and dug for fossils. I felt good. The bone was so big and then we took the bone inside the class. We touched the bone for a while and went to go and wash our hands. After we touched the bone I found out the bone was real.
