Writing...As a super learner I can...

This week Room 19 have been looking at all the characteristics that we need to be a super learner. Some ideas that were shared were not giving up, trying our best, listening to the speaker, helping others, sharing ideas. The students had a go at including a bit more description in their sentences by using "because" to explain their reasons. Look at them all thinking super hard!





Here are some sentences that the kids came up with today:
As a super learner I can read because I can get clever. Conrad
As a super learner I can be listening and being focused and if you focus you do your work properly and help the new students. Maddy
I am a super learner because I can try my best. Juni
I can be super learner by helping others and taking care of them and I can do my writing and do the right thing too because instead of being a bad boy I can be a nice boy. Jose

Here is some writing that Room 19 would like to share with you about what we have learnt so far about growing seeds and plants. To grow a plant I would need a watering can, sunlight and also space so the seeds do not fight over the sun or the rain. They need some air so it can breathe. Plants needs soil to cover the seeds and roots so it grow when it has had sun and water. After that it will grow bigger and bigger. By Raema Plants need water otherwise they will die. They need spoil too so they keep safe. They need sun and air. You need a seed to grow a plant. Nutrients is food for the plants and it is found in soil. Remember to pull the weeds out. Te wiki o Te Reo Maori 2019

During week 8 BMPS celebrated Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori. During the week Room 19 learnt some Te Reo songs and learnt the names of the colours as well as new kupu about some simple directions from the teacher. Author Study

This term the junior school are doing a NZ author study. Each week we will be looking at some New Zealand authors and reading their books. This week Room 19 were focusing on Lynley Dodd who wrote the famous Hairy Maclary books. Here is some of the kids responses to characters in her books. Hercules Morse is my favourite dog from the books because he is the giant of the team because he is fat. Hercules Morse is the fattest dog who jumps up high from Scarface Claw because he is so scared of him.
