Athletics field events with Coach Chris
Today Room 19 had their first try in the long jump pit with Coach Chris. He taught us how to run and use our pace to help us jump far. Look at some of us in the air, it looks like we are flying!!!
Author Study
This term the junior school are doing a NZ author study. Each week we will be looking at some New Zealand authors and reading their books. This week Room 19 were focusing on Lynley Dodd who wrote the famous Hairy Maclary books. Here is some of the kids responses to characters in her books. Hercules Morse is my favourite dog from the books because he is the giant of the team because he is fat. Hercules Morse is the fattest dog who jumps up high from Scarface Claw because he is so scared of him. By Roman Schnitzel von Krum is my favourite dog from the books because he is like the shape of a sausage. He is little and funny because his tummy can nearly touch the ground and he has got short, little legs that can’t jump very high. By Monty Hercules Morse is my favourite dog from the books because he is gigantic like a big horse. He can run very fast like a car and he is the biggest dog of the group.
